7And they laid the Ark of God upon a new plaustrum: a wagon, a cart, out of the house of Abinadab. And Oza and his brother did drive the wain.And they layd the Arke of God vpon a new wayne, out of the house of Abinadab. And Oza and his brother did driue the wayne.✦Imposueruntque arcam Dei super plaustrum novum, de domo Abinadab : Oza autem, et frater ejus minabant plaustrum.
8Moreover David, and all Israel played before our Lord with all their might in songs, and on harps, and psalteries, and timbrels, and cymbals, and trumpets.Moreouer Dauid, and al Israel playd before our Lord with al their might in songues, and on harpes, and psalteries, and timbrels, and cymbals, and trumpettes.Porro David, et universus Israël, ludebant coram Deo omni virtute in canticis, et in citharis, et psalteriis, et tympanis, et cymbalis, et tubis.
9And when they were come to the Floor of Chidon, Oza stretched forth his hand, to hold up the Ark: for the ox being lasciviens: lewd, unchaste; skittish, unruly, frisking had made it lean a little aside.And when they were come to the Floore of Chidon, Oza stretched forth his hand, to hold vp the Arke : for the oxe being wantone had made it leane a litle a side.Cum autem pervenisset ad aream Chidon, tetendit Oza manum suam, ut sustentaret arcam : bos quippe lasciviens paululum inclinaverat eam.
10Our Lord therefore was angry against Oza, and stroke him, for that he had touched the Ark: and he died there before our Lord.Our Lord therfore was angrie agaynst Oza, and stroke him, for that he had touched the Arke : and he died there before our Lord.Iratus est itaque Dominus contra Ozam, et percussit eum, eo quod tetigisset arcam : et mortuus est ibi coram Domino.
11And David was stricken sad, because our Lord had divided Oza: and he called that place, the Division of Oza until this present day.And Dauid was strooken sad, because our Lord had diuided Oza : and he called that place, the Diuision of Oza vntil this present day.Contristatusque est David, eo quod divisisset Dominus Ozam : vocavitque locum illum Divisio Ozæ, usque in præsentem diem.
12And he feared God at that time, saying: How may I bring in the Ark of God unto me?And he feared God at that time, saying : How may I bring in the Arke of God vnto me ?Et timuit Deum tunc temporis, dicens : Quomodo possum ad me introducere arcam Dei ?
13And for this cause he brought it not unto himself, that is, into the city of David, but turned it away into the house of Obededom the Getheite.And for this cause he brought it not vnto himselfe, that is, into the citie of Dauid, but turned it away into the house of Obededom the Getheite.et ob hanc causam non adduxit eam ad se, hoc est, in civitatem David, sed avertit in domum Obededom Gethæi.
14Therefore the Ark of God remained in the house of Obededom three months: and our Lord blessed his house, and all things that he had.Therfore the Arke of God remayned in the house of Obededom three monethes: & our Lord blessed his house, and al thinges that he had.Mansit ergo arca Dei in domo Obededom tribus mensibus : et benedixit Dominus domui ejus, et omnibus quæ habebat.
