23And Ornan said to David: Take it, and let my lord the king do whatsoever pleaseth him: yea the oxen also I give for holocaust, and the tribulas: threshing-sledges, studded drags hauled over the threshing floor for wood, and wheat for sacrifice: I will give all things willingly.And Ornan sayd to Dauid: Take it, and let my lord the king doe whatsoeuer pleaseth him: yea the oxen also I geue for holocaust, and * the dreyes for wood, and wheat for sacrifice: I wil giue al thinges willingly.Dixit autem Ornan ad David : Tolle, et faciat dominus meus rex quodcumque ei placet : sed et boves do in holocaustum, et tribulas in ligna, et triticum in sacrificium : omnia libens præbebo.
24And king David said to him: It shall not be so, but I will give thee silver as much as it is worth: for I may not take it from thee, and so offer to our Lord holocausts given gratis.And king Dauid sayd to him: It shal not be so, but I wil geue thee siluer as much as it is worth: for I may not take it from thee, and so offer to our Lord holocaustes geuen gratis.Dixitque ei rex David : Nequaquam ita fiet, sed argentum dabo quantum valet : neque enim tibi auferre debeo, et sic offerre Domino holocausta gratuita.
