And there came a famine in the days of David three years continually: and David consulted the oracle of our Lord. And our Lord said: For Saul, and his bloody house, because he slew the Gabaonites,ANd there came a famine in the daies of Dauid three yeares continually: and Dauid consulted the oracle of our Lord. 4And the Gabaonites said to him: We have no question upon silver and gold, but against Saul, and against his house: neither will we that a man be slain of Israel. To whom the king said: What will you then that I do for you?And the Gabaonites sayd to him: We haue no question vpon siluer and gold, but agaynst Saul, and agaynst his house: neither wil we that a man be slayne of Israel. To whom the king sayd: What wil you then that I do for you?Dixeruntque ei Gabaonitæ : Non est nobis super argento et auro quæstio, sed contra Saul, et contra domum ejus : neque volumus ut interficiatur homo de Israël. Ad quos rex ait : Quid ergo vultis ut faciam vobis ?
