And Azarias the son of Oded, the Spirit of God coming upon him, went out to meet Asa, and said toAND Azarias the sonne of Oded, the Spirit of God coming vpon him, went out to meete Asa, and sayd toAzarias autem filius Oded, facto in se spiritu Dei,
2him: Hear ye me Asa, and all Juda and Benjamin: Our Lord is with you, because you have been with him. If you will seek him, you shall find: but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.him: Heare ye me Asa, and al Iuda and Beniamin: Our Lord is with you, because you haue beene with him. If you wil seeke him, you shal finde: but if you forsake him, he wil forsake you.egressus est in occursum Asa, et dixit ei : Audite me, Asa, et omnis Juda et Benjamin : Dominus vobiscum, quia fuistis cum eo. Si quæsieritis eum, invenietis : si autem dereliqueritis eum, derelinquet vos.

4And when they shall return in their distress to our Lord the God of Israel, and shall seek him, they shall find him.And when they shal returne in their distresse to our Lord the God of Israel, and shal seeke him, they shal finde him.✦Cumque reversi fuerint in angustia sua ad Dominum Deum Israël, et quæsierint eum, reperient eum.

8Which when Asa had heard, to wit, the words, and the prophecy of Azarias the son of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and took away the Idols out of all the land of Juda, and out of Benjamin, and out of the cities, which he had taken, of mount Ephraim, and he dedicated the altar of our Lord, which was before the porch of our Lord.Which when Asa had heard, to witte, the wordes, and the prophecie of Azarias the sonne of Oded the prophete, he tooke courage, and tooke away the Idols out of al the land of Iuda, and out of Beniamin, and out of the cities, which he had taken, of mount Ephraim, and he dedicated the altar of our Lord, which was before the porche of our Lord.Quod cum audisset Asa, verba scilicet, et prophetiam Azariæ filii Oded prophetæ, confortatus est, et abstulit idola de omni terra Juda et de Benjamin, et ex urbibus quas ceperat, montis Ephraim : et dedicavit altare Domini quod erat ante porticum Domini.

15all that were in Juda with execratione: a solemn self-imposed curse, an oath taken under penalty of cursing: for in all their heart did they swear, and with all their will did they seek him, and found him, and our Lord gave them rest round about,al that were in Iuda with execration: for in al their hart did they sweare, and with al their wil did they seeke him, and found him, & our Lord gaue them rest round about,omnes qui erant in Juda, cum execratione : in omni enim corde suo juraverunt, et in tota voluntate quæsierunt eum, et invenerunt : præstititque eis Dominus requiem per circuitum.
16Yea and Maacha the mother of king Asa he deposed from the royal imperio: sovereign rule, the queen-mother's dominion, because she had made in a luco: a pleasant woodland; a sacred grove planted for idolatrous worship the idol of Priapus: which he wholly destroyed, and breaking into pieces, burnt it in the Torrent Cedron.Yea and Maacha the mother of king Asa he deposed from the royal empyre, because she had made in a groue the idol of Priapus: which he wholy destroyed, and breaking into pecces, burnt it in the Torrent cedron.Sed et Maacham matrem Asa regis ex augusto deposuit imperio, eo quod fecisset in luco simulacrum Priapi : quod omne contrivit, et in frusta comminuens combussit in torrente Cedron.
17But the excelsa: the high places, the idolatrous hill-shrines were left in Israel: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days.But the Excelses were leaft in Israel: neuerthelesse the hart of Asa was perfect al his daies.✦Excelsa autem derelicta sunt in Israël : attamen cor Asa erat perfectum cunctis diebus ejus,
18And those things which his father had vowed, and himself, he brought into the house of our Lord, gold and silver, and of vessels divers furniture.And those thinges which his father had vowed, and him self, he brought into the house of our Lord, gold and siluer, and of vessels diuers furniture.eaque quæ voverat pater suus, et ipse, intulit in domum Domini, argentum, et aurum, vasorumque diversam supellectilem.
19And there was no war unto the five and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa.And there was no warre vnto the fiue and thirteth yeare of the reigne of Asa.✦Bellum vero non fuit usque ad trigesimum quintum annum regni Asa.
