4and went forward into the desert, one day's journey. And when he was come, and sat under a juniper tree, he desired for his soul to die, and said: It sufficeth me Lord, take my soul: for I am not better than my fathers.and went forward into the desert, one dayes iourney. 10But he answered: With zeal have I been zealous for our Lord the God of hosts. because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant: thy altars have they destroyed, and thy prophets they have slain with the sword, and I alone am left, and they seek my life to take it away.But he answered: With zele haue I beene zelous for our Lord the God of hostes. because the children of Israel haue forsaken thy couenant: thy altars haue they destroyed, & thy prophetes they haue slaine with the sword, & I alone am leaft, & they seeke my life to take it away.✦At ille respondit : Zelo zelatus sum pro Domino Deo exercituum, quia dereliquerunt pactum tuum filii Israël : altaria tua destruxerunt, prophetas tuos occiderunt gladio, derelictus sum ego solus, et quærunt animam meam ut auferant eam.

20Who forthwith leaving the oxen ran after Elias, and said: Let me kiss, I pray thee, my father, and my mother, and so I will follow thee. And he said to him: Go, and return: for that which was my part, I have done to thee.Who forth with leauing the oxen ranne after Elias, and said: Let me kisse, I pray thee, my father, and my mother, and so I wil folow thee. And he sayd to him: Goe, and returne: for that which was my part, I haue donne to thee.✦Qui statim relictis bobus cucurrit post Eliam, et ait : Osculer, oro, patrem meum, et matrem meam, et sic sequar te. Dixitque ei : Vade, et revertere : quod enim meum erat, feci tibi.
21And returning from him. he took a yoke of oxen, and killed them, and coxit: boiled, seethed (past tense of seethe) the flesh with the plough of the oxen, and gave to the people, and they did eat: and rising up he departed, and followed Elias, and ministered to him.And returning from him. he tooke a yoke of oxen, and killed them, and sod the flesh with the plough of the oxen, and gaue to the people, and they did eate: and rysing vp he departed, and folowed Elias, & ministred to him.✦Reversus autem ab eo, tulit par boum, et mactavit illud, et in aratro boum coxit carnes, et dedit populo, et comederunt : consurgensque abiit, et secutus est Eliam, et ministrabat ei.
