There passed therefore three years without war between Syria and Israel.THERE passed therfore three yeares without warre betwen Syria and Israel.Transierunt igitur tres anni absque bello inter Syriam et Israël.
2And in the third year, Josaphat the king of Juda went down to the king of Israel.And in the third yeare, Iosaphat the king of Iuda went downe to the king of Israel.In anno autem tertio, descendit Josaphat rex Juda ad regem Israël.
3(And the king of Israel said to his servants: are you ignorant that Ramoth-Galaad is ours, and we neglect to take it out of the hand of the king of Syria?)(And the king of Israel sayd to his seruantes: are you ignorant that Ramoth-Galaad is ours, and we neglect to take it out of the hand of the king of Syria?)✦(Dixitque rex Israël ad servos suos : Ignoratis quod nostra sit Ramoth Galaad, et negligimus tollere eam de manu regis Syriæ ?)

5And Josaphat said to the king of Israel: As I am, so thou also: my people and thy people are one: and my horsemen thy horsemen. 6The king of Israel therefore assembled the prophets, about four hundred men, and he said to them: Shall I go into Ramoth Galaad to fight, or sit still? 8And the king of Israel said to Josaphat: There is one man left, by whom we may ask our Lord: but I hate him, because he doeth not prophesy unto me good, but evil, Micheas the son of Jemla. To whom Josaphat said: Speak not so, O king.And the king of Israel sayd to Iosaphat: There is one man left, by whom we may aske our Lord: but I hate him, because he doeth not prophecie vnto me good, but euil, Micheas the sonne of Iemla. 12And all the prophets in like manner prophesied, saying: Ascend into Ramoth Galaad, and go prosperously, and our Lord will deliver it into the King's hands.And al the prophetes in like maner prophecied, saying: Ascend into Ramoth Galaad, and goe prosperousely, & our Lord wil deliuer it into the Kinges handes.Omnesque prophetæ similiter prophetabant, dicentes : Ascende in Ramoth Galaad, et vade prospere, et tradet Dominus in manus regis.

20and our Lord said: Who shall deceive Achab the king of Israel, that he may go up, and fall in Ramoth Galaad? 21And there came forth a spirit, and stood before our Lord, and said: I will deceive him. To whom our Lord spake: Wherein?And there came forth a spirit, and stood before our Lord, and sayd: I wil deceiue him. 22And he said: I will go forth, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. 30The king of Israel therefore said to Josaphat: Take armour, and go into the battle, and put on thine own garments. Moreover the king of Israel changed his habitum: dress, garb, apparel, not a customary practice, and went into the battle.The king of Israel therfore sayd to Iosaphat: Take armour, and goe into the battel, and put on thyne owne garmentes. 34And a certain man bent his bow, directing the arrow at all in incertum: at random, at a venture, and by chance he percussit: struck, smote the king of Israel between the lungs and the stomach. But he said to his aurigae: the chariot-driver, charioteer: Turn thy hand, and carry me out of the army, because I am grievously wounded.And a certaine man bent his bow, directing the arrow at al aduenture, and by chance he stroke the king of Israel betwen the lunges and the stomacke.
