4Be ashamed Sidon, for the sea saith, the strength of the sea, saying: I have not travailed, and I have not brought forth, and I have not nourished young men, nor brought virgins to their growth.Be ashamed Sidon, for the sea sayth, the strength of the sea, saying: I haue not trauailed, and I haue not brought forth, and I haue not nourished yongmen, nor brought virgins to their growth.✦Erubesce, Sidon ; ait enim mare, fortitudo maris, dicens : Non parturivi, et non peperi, et non enutrivi juvenes, nec ad incrementum perduxi virgines.

7Is not this your city, which gloried from ancient days in her antiquity? her feet shall lead her afar to peregrinandum: to dwell far off as a stranger, into exile.Is not this your citie, which gloried from ancient dayes in her antiquitie? her feete shal leade her afarre to sciourne.✦Numquid non vestra hæc est, quæ gloriabatur a diebus pristinis in antiquitate sua ? Ducent eam pedes sui longe ad peregrinandum.

12and he said: Thou shalt add no more to glory, O Virgin daughter of Sidon sustaining calumny: rising up sail over to Cethim, there also thou shalt have no rest.and he said: Thou shalt adde no more to glorie, ô Virgin daughter of Sidon susteyning calumnie: rising vp saile ouer to Cethim, there also thou shalt haue no rest.✦et dixit : Non adjicies ultra ut glorieris, calumniam sustinens virgo filia Sidonis : in Cethim consurgens transfreta : ibi quoque non erit requies tibi.

15And it shall be in that day: thou shalt be in oblivion O Tyre, seventy years, as the days of one king: but after seventy years, there shall be to Tyre as it were the song of an harlot.And it shal be in that day: thou shalt be in obliuion ô Tyre, seuentie yeares, as the daies of one king: but after seuentie yeares, there shal be to Tyre as it were the song of an harlot.✦Et erit in die illa : in oblivione eris, o Tyre ! septuaginta annis, sicut dies regis unius ; post septuaginta autem annos erit Tyro quasi canticum meretricis :

18And the negotiationes: the market-gains, trade-profits, and rewards shall be sanctified to our Lord: they shall not be kept in store, nor laid up: because her merchandise shall be for them, that shall dwell before our Lord, that they may eat unto satiety, and be clothed unto vetustatem: long duration, lasting age, not mere persistence.And the martes, and rewards shal be sanctified to our Lord: they shal not be kept in store, nor layd vp: because her merchandise shal be for them, that shal dwel before our Lord, that they may eate vnto satietie, and be clothed vnto continuance.✦et erunt negotiationes ejus et mercedes ejus sanctificatæ Domino : non condentur neque reponentur, quia his qui habitaverint coram Domino erit negotiatio ejus, ut manducent in saturitatem, et vestiantur usque ad vetustatem.
