Thus saith our Lord: Behold I will raise up upon Babylon and upon the inhabitants thereof, which have lifted up their heart against me, as it were a pestilent wind.THVS saith our Lord: Behold I wil raise vpon Babylon and vpon the inhabitants thereof, which haue lifted vp their hart against me, as it were a pestilent winde.✦Hæc dicit Dominus : Ecce ego suscitabo super Babylonem et super habitatores ejus, qui cor suum levaverunt contra me, quasi ventum pestilentem :
2And I will send upon Babylon ventilatores: winnowers, who toss the grain to blow away the chaff, and they shall fan it, and shall destroy her land: because they are come upon her on every side in the day of her affliction.And I wil send vpon Babylon fanners, and they shal fanne it, and shal destroy her land: because they are come vpon her on euerie side in the day of her affliction.et mittam in Babylonem ventilatores, et ventilabunt eam et demolientur terram ejus, quoniam venerunt super eam undique in die afflictionis ejus.

17Every man is become a fool by knowledge: every metal caster is confusus: put to shame, thrown into confusion in his sculptili: a graven idol, a carved false god, because his casting is mendax: false, a lie, neither is there spirit in them.Euerie man is become a foole by knowlege: euerie mettal caster is confounded in his sculptil, because his casting is counterfet, neither is there spirite in them.Stultus factus est omnis homo a scientia ; confusus est omnis conflator in sculptili : quia mendax est conflatio eorum, nec est spiritus in eis.

63And when thou shalt have finished reading this book, thou shalt tie a stone to it, and shalt throw it into the midst of Euphrates:And when thou shalt haue finished reading this booke, thou shalt tye a stone to it, and shalt throw it into the middes of Euphrates:✦Cumque compleveris legere librum istum, ligabis ad eum lapidem, et projicies illum in medium Euphraten,
64and thou shalt say: So shall Babylon be drowned, and she shall not rise up from the face of the affliction, that I will bring upon her, and she shall be dissolved. Hitherto the words of Jeremie.and thou shalt say: So shal Babylon be drowned, & she shal not rise vp from the face of the affliction, that I wil bring vpon her, and she shal be dissolued.
