And when the eighth day was come, Moyses called Aaron and his sons, and the ancients of Israel,AND when the eight day was come, Moyses called Aaron and his sonnes, and the ancients of Israel,Facto autem octavo die, vocavit Moyses Aaron, et filios ejus, ac majores natu Israël, dixitque ad Aaron :

2and said to Aaron: Take of the herd a calf for sin, and a ram for an holocaust, both without spot, and offer them before our Lord.and said to Aaron: Take of the heard a calfe for sinne, and a ramme for an holocaust, both without spot, and offer them before our Lord.Tolle de armento vitulum pro peccato, et arietem in holocaustum, utrumque immaculatum, et offer illos coram Domino.

3And to the children of Israel thou shalt speak: Take ye a buck-goat for sin, and a calf, and a lamb, of a year old, and without spot for an holocaust,And to the children of Israel thou shalt speake: Take ye a bucke goate for sinne, and a calfe, and a lambe, of a yeare old, & without spot for an holocaust,Et ad filios Israël loqueris : Tollite hircum pro peccato, et vitulum, atque agnum, anniculos, et sine macula in holocaustum,

4an ox and a ram for peace-offerings, not "pacifists" · Vulgate: pacificis: and immolate them before our Lord, offering in the sacrifice of every one, flour tempered with oil; for today our Lord will appear to you.an oxe and a ramme for pacifiques: and immolate them before our Lord, offering in the sacrifice of euerie one, flowre tempered with oile; for to day our Lord wil appeare to you.bovem et arietem pro pacificis : et immolate eos coram Domino, in sacrificio singulorum similam conspersam oleo offerentes : hodie enim Dominus apparebit vobis.

5They took therefore all things that Moyses had commanded before the door of the tabernacle: where when all the multitude stood,They tooke therfore al thinges that Moyses had commanded before the dore of the tabernacle: where when al the multitude stood,Tulerunt ergo cuncta quæ jusserat Moyses ad ostium tabernaculi : ubi cum omnis multitudo astaret,

6Moyses said: This is the word, which our Lord hath commanded: do it, and his glory will appear to you.Moyses said: This is the word, which our Lord hath commanded: doe it, and his glorie wil appeare to you.ait Moyses : Iste est sermo, quem præcepit Dominus : facite, et apparebit vobis gloria ejus.

7And he said to Aaron: Approach to the altar, and immolate for thy sin: offer the holocaust, and pray for thyself and for the people, and when thou hast slain the people's host, pray for them, as our Lord hath commanded.And he said to Aaron: Approch to the altar, & immolate for thy sinne: offer the holocaust, and pray for thy self and for the people, and when thou hast slaine the peoples hoste, pray for them, as our Lord hath commanded.Et dixit ad Aaron : Accede ad altare, et immola pro peccato tuo : offer holocaustum, et deprecare pro te et pro populo : cumque mactaveris hostiam populi, ora pro eo, sicut præcepit Dominus.

8And forthwith Aaron approaching to the altar, immolated the calf for his sin:And forthwith Aaron approching to the altar, immolated the calfe for his sinne:Statimque Aaron accedens ad altare, immolavit vitulum pro peccato suo :

9the blood whereof his sons brought to him: wherein dipping his finger, he touched the horns of the altar, and poured the rest at the foot thereof.the bloud wherof his sonnes brought to him: wherein dipping his finger, he touched the hornes of the altar, and poured the rest at the foote therof.cujus sanguinem obtulerunt ei filii sui : in quo tingens digitum, tetigit cornua altaris, et fudit residuum ad basim ejus.

10And the fat, and the little kidneys, and the caul of the liver, which are for sin, he burnt upon the altar, as our Lord had commanded Moyses.And the fatte, and the litle kidneis, and the caule of the liuer, which are for sinne, he burnt vpon the altar, as our Lord had commanded Moyses.Adipemque, et renunculos, ac reticulum jecoris, quæ sunt pro peccato, adolevit super altare, sicut præceperat Dominus Moysi :

11but the flesh and skin thereof he burnt with fire without the camp.but the flesh and skinne therof he burnt with fire without the campe.carnes vero et pellem ejus extra castra combussit igni.

12He immolated also the victim of holocaust: and his sons brought him the blood thereof, which he poured in the circuit of the altar.He immolated also the victime of holocaust: and his sonnes brought him the bloud therof, which he poured in the circuite of the altar.Immolavit et holocausti victimam : obtuleruntque ei filii sui sanguinem ejus, quem fudit per altaris circuitum.

13The host also itself being cut into pieces, they brought with the head and every member, which he burnt with fire upon the altar,The hoste also it selfe being cut into peeces, they brought with the head and euerie member, which he burnt with fire vpon the altar,Ipsam etiam hostiam in frusta concisam, cum capite et membris singulis obtulerunt ; quæ omnia super altare cremavit igni,

14having first washed the entrails and the feet with water.hauing first washed the entralles and the feete with water.lotis aqua prius intestinis et pedibus.

15And offering for the sin of the people, he slew the buck-goat: and expiating the altar:And offering for the sinne of the people, he slew the bucke goate: and expiating the altar:Et pro peccato populi offerens, mactavit hircum : expiatoque altari,

16he made the holocaust,he made the holocaust,fecit holocaustum,

20they put upon the breasts. And after the fat was burnt upon the altar,they put vpon the brests. and after the fatte was burnt vpon the altar,posuerunt super pectora : cumque cremati essent adipes super altare,

21their breasts, and the right shoulders, Aaron did separate, elevating them before our Lord, as Moyses had commanded.their brests, and the right shoulders, Aaron did seperate, eleuating them before our Lord, as Moyses had commanded.pectora eorum, et armos dextros separavit Aaron, elevans coram Domino, sicut præceperat Moyses.

22And stretching forth his hand to the people, he blessed them. 23And Moyses and Aaron going into the tabernacle of testimony, and afterward coming forth, blessed the people. Apparuitque gloria Domini omni multitudini :

24and behold a fire coming forth from our Lord, devoured the holocaust, and the fat that was upon the altar: Which thing, when the multitude had seen, they praised our Lord, falling on their faces.and behold a fire coming forth from our Lord, deuoured the holocaust, and the fatte that was vpon the altar: Which thing, when the multitude had sene, they praised our Lord, falling on their faces.et ecce egressus ignis a Domino, devoravit holocaustum, et adipes qui erant super altare. Quod cum vidissent turbæ, laudaverunt Dominum, ruentes in facies suas.
