The Jews are exhorted to ask good things of God: 4. of their nation cometh the Redeemer of all men, 5. and of the same are the Apostles, spiritual masters of the whole world. 6. The whole nation shall at last be converted. The Iewes are exhorted to aske good thinges of God: 4. of their nation cometh the Redemer of al men, 5. and of the same are the Apostles, spiritual masters of the whole world. 6. The whole nation shal at last be conuerted.

Ask of our Lord rain in the serotino: of the latter season, ripening late time, and our Lord will make snows, and will give them rain of showers, to every one grass in the field.ASKE of our Lord rayne in a the lateward time, and our Lord wil make snowes, and wil geue them rayne of showers, to euerie one grasse in the filde.Petite a Domino pluviam in tempore serotino, et Dominus faciet nives : et pluviam imbris dabit eis, singulis herbam in agro.

Because the idols spake that which was unprofitable, and the diviners saw a lie, and the dreamers spake in vain: they comforted vainly: therefore are they led away as a flock: they shall be afflicted, because they have no pastour.Because the idols spake that which was vnprofitable, and the deuiners saw a lie, & the dreamers spake in vayne: they comforted vaynely: therfore are they led away as a flock: they shal be afflicted, because they haue no pastour.

Upon the pastours my fury is wrath, and upon the buck-hircos: he-goats, the male goats I will visit: because the Lord of exercituum: armies: the heavenly armies, not guests hath visited his flock, the house of Juda, and hath made them as the horse of his glory in the battle.Vpon the pastours my furie is wrath, and vpon the buckgoates I wil visite: because the Lord of hosts hath visited his flocke, the house of Iuda, and hath made them as the horse of his glorie in the battel.Super pastores iratus est furor meus, et super hircos visitabo : quia visitavit Dominus exercituum gregem suum, domum Juda, et posuit eos quasi equum gloriæ suæ in bello.

Of him the corner, of him the paxillus: a tent-peg, a stake driven to fasten, not a sewing pin, of him the bow of battle, of him shall come forth every exactor: a demanding person; an officer who exacts tribute together.Of him the corner, of him the pinne, of him the bow of battel, of him shal come forth euerie exactour together.Ex ipso angulus, ex ipso paxillus, ex ipso arcus prælii, ex ipso egredietur omnis exactor simul.

And they shall be as valiants, treading the mire of the ways in battle: and they shall fight, because our Lord is with them: and the riders of horses shall be confounded. And they shal be as valients, treading the myre of the wayes in battel: and they shal fight, because our Lord is with them: and the riders of horses shal be confounded.

And I will strengthen the house of Juda, and the house of Joseph I will save: and I will convert them, because I will have mercy on them: and they shall be as they were when I had not cast them off, for I am the Lord their God, and will hear them. And I wil strengthen the house b of Iuda, and the house c of Ioseph I wil saue: and I wil conuert them, because I wil haue mercie on them: and they shal be as they were when I had not cast them of, for I am the Lord their God, and wil heare them.

And they shall be as the valiants of Ephraim, and their heart shall rejoice as it were of wine: and their children shall see, and shall rejoice, and their heart shall be joyful in our Lord. And they shal be as the valients of Ephraim, & their hart shal reioyce as it were of wine: and their children shal see, and shal reioyce, & their hart shal be ioyful in our Lord.Et erunt quasi fortes Ephraim, et lætabitur cor eorum quasi a vino : et filii eorum videbunt, et lætabuntur, et exsultabit cor eorum in Domino.

I will sibilabo: whistle, to summon by whistling to them, and will gather them together, because I have redeemed them: and I will multiply them as they were multiplied before.I d wil hisse to them, and wil gather them together, because I haue redemed them: and I wil multiplie them as they were multiplied before.Sibilabo eis, et congregabo illos, quia redemi eos : et multiplicabo eos sicut ante fuerant multiplicati.

And I will sow them among peoples, and from a far they shall remember me: and they shall live with their children, and shall return. And I wil saw them among peoples, and from a far they shal remember me: and they shal liue with their children, and shal returne.

And I will bring them back out of the Land of Egypt, and out of the Assyrians I will gather them: and to the Land of Galaad, and Libanus I will bring them, and there shall not be found place for them. And I wil bring them backe out of the Land of Ægypt, and out of the Assyrians I wil gather them: and to the Land of Galaad, & Libanus I wil bring them, and there shal not be found place for them.

And he shall pass over in the freto: a narrow channel of the sea of the sea, and shall strike the waves in the sea, and all the depths of the river shall be confounded, and the pride of Assur shall be humbled, and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart. And he shal passe ouer in the strayte of the sea, and shal strike the waues in the sea, and al the depths of the riuer shal be confounded, and e the pride of Assur shal be humbled, and the scepter of Ægypt shal depart.et transibit in maris freto, et percutiet in mari fluctus, et confundentur omnia profunda fluminis : et humiliabitur superbia Assur, et sceptrum Ægypti recedet.

I will strengthen them in the Lord, and in his name they shall walk: saith our Lord.I wil strengthen them in the Lord, and in his name they shal walke: sayth our Lord.Confortabo eos in Domino, et in nomine ejus ambulabunt, dicit Dominus.
