Salomon therefore brought in all the things, that David his father had vowed, the silver, and gold, and all the vessels he put in the treasures of the house of God.SALOMON therfore brought in al the thinges, that Dauid his father had vowed, the siluer, and gold, and al the vessels he put in the treasures of the house of God.Intulit igitur Salomon omnia quæ voverat David pater suus : argentum, et aurum, et universa vasa posuit in thesauris domus Dei.

After which things he gathered together all the ancients of Israel, and all the princes of the tribes, and the heads of families, of the children of Israel into Jerusalem, to bring the Ark of the covenant of our Lord from the City of David, which is Sion. After which thinges he gathered together al the ancientes of Israel, and al the princes of the tribes, and the heades of families, of the children of Israel into Ierusalem, to bring the Arke of the couenant of our Lord from the Citie of Dauid, which is Sion.Post quæ congregavit majores natu Israël, et cunctos principes tribuum, et capita familiarum de filiis Israël in Jerusalem, ut adducerent arcam fœderis Domini de civitate David, quæ est Sion.

There came therefore unto the king all the men of Israel in the solemni: appointed festal day of the seventh month. There came therfore vnto the king al the men of Israel in the solemne day of the seuenth moneth.Venerunt itaque ad regem omnes viri Israël in die solemni mensis septimi.

And when all the ancients of Israel were come, the Levites carried the Ark,And when al the ancientes of Israel were come, the Leuites caried the Arke,Cumque venissent cuncti seniorum Israël, portaverunt Levitæ arcam,

and brought it in, and all the paraturam: the fittings and apparatus, not household furnishings but the equipment of the tabernacle. Moreover the Priests, with the Levites did carry the vessels of the Sanctuary, which were in the tabernacle.and brought it in, and al the furniture of the tabernacle. Moreouer the Priestes, with the Leuites did carrie the vessels of the Sanctuarie, which were in the tabernacle.et intulerunt eam, et omnem paraturam tabernaculi. Porro vasa sanctuarii, quæ erant in tabernaculo, portaverunt sacerdotes cum Levitis.

And king Salomon, and all the assembly of Israel, and all that were gathered before the Ark, immolabant: sacrificed, offered up rams, and oxen without any number: for so great was the multitude of victimarum: sacrificial offerings slain. And king Salomon, and al the assemblie of Israel, and al that were gathered before the Arke, immolated rammes, and oxen without anie number: for so great was the multitude of victimes.Rex autem Salomon, et universus cœtus Israël, et omnes qui fuerunt congregati ante arcam, immolabant arietes et boves absque ullo numero : tanta enim erat multitudo victimarum.

And the priests brought in the Ark of the covenant of our Lord into his place, that is, to the oraculum: not a soothsayer but the inner sanctuary, the holy of holies of the temple, into Sancta sanctorum under the wings of the cherubs:And the priestes brought in the Arke of the couenant of our Lord into his place, that is, to the oracle of the temple, into Sancta sanctorum vnder the winges of the cherubs:Et intulerunt sacerdotes arcam fœderis Domini in locum suum, id est, ad oraculum templi, in Sancta sanctorum subter alas cherubim :

so that the cherubs spread their wings over the place, wherein the Ark was set, and covered the Ark itself with his vectibus: the staves by which the Ark was borne, not metal bars but the carrying-poles.so that the cherubs spred their winges ouer the place, wherin the Arke was set, and couered the Arke it selfe with his barres.ita ut cherubim expanderent alas suas super locum in quo posita erat arca, et ipsam arcam tegerent cum vectibus suis.

And the heads of the bars, wherewith the Ark was carried, because they were a little longer, appeared before the oracle: but if a man had been a little outward, he could not see them. The Ark therefore was there until this present day.And the heades of the barres, wherwith the Arke was caried, because they were a litle longer, appeared before the oracle: but if a man had beene a litle outward, he could not see them. The Arke therfore was there vntil this present day.Vectium autem quibus portabatur arca, quia paululum longiores erant, capita parebant ante oraculum : si vero quis paululum fuisset extrinsecus, eos videre non poterat. Fuit itaque arca ibi usque in præsentem diem.

And there was nothing in the Ark, but the two tables, which Moyses had put in Horeb, when our Lord gave the law to the children of Israel coming out of Egypt. And there was nothing in the Arke, but the two tables, which Moyses had put in Horeb, when our Lord gaue the law to the children of Israel coming out of Ægypt.Nihilque erat aliud in arca, nisi duæ tabulæ quas posuerat Moyses in Horeb, quando legem dedit Dominus filiis Israël egredientibus ex Ægypto.

And the Priests being gone out of the Sanctuary ( for all the priests that could be found there, were sanctified, neither as yet at that time were the vices: the rota of priestly service, not paths but the priestly divisions, and the order of the ministries divided among them )And the Priestes being gone out of the Sanctuarie ( for al the priestes that could be found there, were sanctified, neither as yet at that time were the courses, and the order of the ministeries deuided among them )Egressis autem sacerdotibus de sanctuario (omnes enim sacerdotes qui ibi potuerant inveniri, sanctificati sunt : nec adhuc in illo tempore vices et ministeriorum ordo inter eos divisus erat),

as well the Levites as the singing men, that is, both they which were under Asaph, and they which were under Heman, and they which were under Idithun, their sons, and brethren vestiti: vested, clothed with fine linen clothes, sounded on cymbals, and psalteries, and harps, standing at the East side of the Altar, and with them Priests an hundred twenty, sounding with trumpets.as wel the Leuites as the singing men, that is, both they which were vnder Asaph, and they which were vnder Heman, and they which were vnder Idithun, their sonnes, & brethren reuested with finne linnen clothes, sounded on cymbals, and psalteries, and harpes, standing at the East side of the Altar, and with them Priestes an hundred twentie, sounding with trumpettes.tam Levitæ quam cantores, id est, et qui sub Asaph erant, et qui sub Eman, et qui sub Idithun, filii et fratres eorum vestiti byssinis, cymbalis, et psalteriis, et citharis concrepabant, stantes ad orientalem plagam altaris : et cum eis sacerdotes centum viginti canentes tubis.

Therefore all sounding together, both with trumpets, and voice, and cymbals, and organs, and with diverse kind of musical instruments, and lifting up their voice on high: the sound was heard far off, so that when they began to praise our Lord, and to say: Confess to our Lord because he is good, because his mercy is for ever: the house of God was filled with a cloud,Therfore al sounding together, both with trumpettes, and voyce, and cymbals, and organes, and with diuerse kind of musical instrumentes, and lifteng vp their voice on high: the sound was heard far of, so that when they began to prayse our Lord, and to say: Confesse to our Lord because he is good, because his mercie is for euer: the house of God was filled with a cloud,Igitur cunctis pariter, et tubis, et voce, et cymbalis, et organis, et diversi generis musicorum concinentibus, et vocem in sublime tollentibus, longe sonitus audiebatur, ita ut cum Dominum laudare cœpissent et dicere : Confitemini Domino quoniam bonus, quoniam in æternum misericordia ejus : impleretur domus Dei nube,

that the Priests could not stand and minister for the darkness. For the glory of our Lord had filled the house of God.that the Priestes could not stand and minister for the darkenesse. For the glorie of our Lord had filled the house of God.nec possent sacerdotes stare et ministrare propter caliginem. Compleverat enim gloria Domini domum Dei.
