And when Salomon had finished to pour out his prayers, fire descended from heaven, and devoured the holocausts and victimas: those harmed or preyed upon; the sacrificial beasts slain in offering: and the majesty of our Lord filled the house.AND when Salomon had finished to poure out his prayers, fyre descended from heauen, and deuoured the holocaustes and victimes: and the maiestie of our Lord filled the house.

Neither could the Priests enter into the Temple of our Lord, because the majesty of our Lord had filled the temple of our Lord.Neither could the Priestes enter into the Temple of our Lord, because the maiestie of our Lord had filled the temple of our Lord.

Yea and all the children of Israel saw the fire descending, and the glory of our Lord upon the house: and falling flat on the earth upon the pavement paved with stone, they adored, and praised our Lord: Because he is good, because his mercy is for ever.Yea and al the children of Israel sawe the fyre descending, and the glorie of our Lord vpon the house: and falling flat on the earth vpon the pauement paued with stone, they adored, and praysed our Lord: Because he is good, because his mercie is for euer.

And the king and all the people immolabant: offered in sacrifice, slew as a victim victims before our Lord. And the king and al the people immolated victimes before our Lord.

King Salomon therefore killed hostias: armies, multitudes; sacrificial victims, beasts slain in offering, of oxen twenty two thousand, of rams an hundred twenty thousand: and the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.. King Salomon therfore killed hostes, of oxen twentie two thousand, of rammes an hundred twentie thousand: and the king and al the people dedicated the house of God.Mactavit igitur rex Salomon hostias, boum viginti duo millia, arietum centum viginti millia : et dedicavit domum Dei rex, et universus populus.

And the Priests stood in their offices: and the Levites with the instruments of the songs of our Lord, which David the king made to praise our Lord: Because his mercy is for ever, singing the hymns of David by their hands: moreover the Priests sounded with trumpets before them, and all Israel stood. And the Priestes stood in their offices: and the Leuites with the instrumentes of the songues of our Lord, which Dauid the king made to prayse our Lord: Because his mercie is for euer, singing the hymnes of Dauid by their handes: moreouer the Priestes sounded with trumpettes before them, and al Israel stood.Sacerdotes autem stabant in officiis suis, et Levitæ in organis carminum Domini, quæ fecit David rex ad laudandum Dominum : Quoniam in æternum misericordia ejus, hymnos David canentes per manus suas : porro sacerdotes canebant tubis ante eos, cunctusque Israël stabat.

Salomon also sanctified the midst of the court before the temple of our Lord: for he had offered there the holocausts, and the fat of the pacificorum: peaceable persons; peace offerings, the sacrifice eaten in fellowship: because the brazen altar, which he had made, could not sustain the holocausts and the sacrifices and the fat.Salomon also sanctified the middes of the court before the temple of our Lord: for he had offered there the holocaustes, and the fatte of the pacifiques: because the brasen altar, which he had made, could not susteyne the holocaustes and the sacrifices and the fatte.

Salomon therefore made a solemnitatem: gravity, seriousness; an appointed feast, a festival kept with sacred ceremony at that time seven days, and all Israel with him, an assembly very great, from the entrance of Emath to the Torrent of Egypt.Salomon therfore made a solemnitie at that time seuen daies, and al Israel with him, an assemblie verie great, from the entrance of Emath to the Torrent of Aegypt.

And he made in the eighth day an assembly, because he had dedicated the altar seven days, and had celebrated the solemnity seven days. And he made in the eight day an assemblie, because he had dedicated the altar seuen daies, and had celebrated the solemnitie seuen daies.Fecitque die octavo collectam, eo quod dedicasset altare septem diebus, et solemnitatem celebrasset diebus septem.

Therefore in the three and twentieth day of the seventh month, he dismissed the people to their tabernacles, rejoicing and being glad for the good, that our Lord had done to David, and Salomon, and Israel his people.Therfore in the three and twenteth day of the seuenth moneth, he dismist the people to their tabernacles, reioysing and being glad for the good, that our Lord had done to Dauid, and Salomon, and Israel his people.

And Salomon accomplished the house of our Lord, and the house of the king, and all that he had disposed in his heart to do, in the house of our Lord, and in his own house, and he prospered. And Salomon accomplished the house of our Lord, and the house of the king, and al that he had disposed in his hart to do, in the house of our Lord, and in his owne house, and he prospered.

And our Lord appeared to him by night, and said: I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to me for a house of sacrifice. And our Lord appeared to him by night, and sayd: I haue heard thy prayer, and haue chosen this place to me for a house of sacrifice.

If I shall shut heaven, and rain fall not, and shall bid and command the locust to devour the land, and shall send pestilence into my people:If I shal shut heauen, and rayne fal not, and shal bid and command the locust to deuoure the land, and shal send pestilence into my people:Si clausero cælum, et pluvia non fluxerit, et mandavero et præcepero locustæ ut devoret terram, et misero pestilentiam in populum meum :

and my people being converted, upon whom my name is invocatum: called upon, invoked, shall beseech me, and seek out my face, and shall do pœnitentiam: penitential satisfaction for sin, the doing of penance from their most wicked ways: I also will hear from heaven, and will be propitious to their sins, and will save their land.and my people being conuerted, vpon whom my name is inuocated, shal besech me, and seeke out my face, and shal doe penance from their most wicked waies: I also wil heare from heauen, and wil be propitious to their sinnes, and wil saue their land.conversus autem populus meus, super quos invocatum est nomen meum, deprecatus me fuerit, et exquisierit faciem meam, et egerit pœnitentiam a viis suis pessimis : et ego exaudiam de cælo, et propitius ero peccatis eorum, et sanabo terram eorum.

Mine eyes also shall be opened, and mine ears erected to his prayer, that shall pray in this place.Mine eies also shal be opened, and mine eares erected to his prayer, that shal pray in this place.

For I have chosen, and have sanctified this place, that my name may be there for ever, and mine eyes and my heart may remain there all days. For I haue chosen, and haue sanctified this place, that my name may be there for euer, and mine eies and my hart may remaine there al daies.

Thou also if thou walk before me, as David thy father walked, and shalt do according to all things, which I have commanded thee, and shalt keep my justices and judgements:Thou also if thou walke before me, as Dauid thy father walked, and shalt doe according to al thinges, which I haue commanded thee, and shalt keepe my iustices and iudgementes:Tu quoque si ambulaveris coram me, sicut ambulaverit David pater tuus, et feceris juxta omnia quæ præcepi tibi, et justitias meas judiciaque servaveris :

I will raise up the throne of thy kingdom, as I promised to David thy father, saying: There shall not be taken away of thy stock a man, that shall be prince in Israel.I wil rayse vp the throne of thy kingdom, as I promised to Dauid thy father, saying: There shal not be taken away of thy stocke a man, that shal be prince in Israel.suscitabo thronum regni tui, sicut pollicitus sum David patri tuo, dicens : Non auferetur de stirpe tua vir qui sit princeps in Israël.

But if you shall be turned away, and shall forsake my justices, and my precepts, which I have proposed to you, and going shall serve strange gods, and adore them,But if you shal be turned away, and shal forsake my iustices, and my preceptes, which I haue proposed to you, and going shal serue strange goddes, and adore them,Si autem aversi fueritis, et dereliqueritis justitias meas, et præcepta mea quæ proposui vobis, et abeuntes servieritis diis alienis, et adoraveritis eos,

I will pluck you out of my land, which I have given you: and this house, which I have sanctified to my name, I will cast away from my face, and will deliver it for a parabolam: a moral story or fable; a byword, an object of derision, and an example to all peoples.I wil plucke you out of my land, which I haue geuen you: and this house, which I haue sanctified to my name, I wil cast away from my face, and wil deliuer it for a parable, and an exemple to al peoples.evellam vos de terra mea quam dedi vobis : et domum hanc, quam sanctificavi nomini meo, projiciam a facie mea, et tradam eam in parabolam, et in exemplum cunctis populis.

And this house shall be for a proverb to all transeuntibus: travellers conveyed by another; passers-by, those passing, and they shall say being astonished: Why hath the Lord done so to this land, and to this house? And this house shal be for a prouerbe to al passengers, and they shal say being astonyshed: Why hath the Lord done so to this land, and to this house?Et domus ista erit in proverbium universis transeuntibus, et dicent stupentes : Quare fecit Dominus sic terræ huic, et domui huic ?

And they shall answer: Because they forsook the Lord the God of their fathers, who brought them out of the Land of Egypt, and took hold of strange gods, and adored them, and worshipped them: therefore are all these evils come upon them. And they shal answer: Because they forsooke the Lord the God of their fathers, who brought them out of the Land of Aegypt, and tooke hold of strange goddes, and adored them, and worshipped them: therfore are al these euils come vpon them.
