2our Lord raised up the spirit of Cyrus king of the Persians, and he proclaimed in all his kingdoms, and that by writing,our Lord raysed vp the spirit of Cyrus king of the Persians, and he proclaymed in al his kingdomes, and that by writing,suscitavit Dominus spiritum Cyri regis Persarum, et prædicavit in toto regno suo simul per scripturam,
3saying: Thus saith Cyrus king of the Persians: The Lord of Israel, the high Lord, hath made me king over the whole earth.saying: Thus sayth Cyrus king of the Persians: The Lord of Israel, the high Lord, hath made me king ouer the whole earth.dicens : Hæc dicit Cyrus rex Persarum : Me constituit regem orbi terrarum Dominus Israël, Dominus excelsus,

13And of these this was the number: Cups for libatoria: drink offerings, libations poured out of silver two thousand four hundred, basins of silver thirty: phials of gold thirty, also of silver two thousand four hundred: and other vessels a thousand.And of these this was the number: Cuppes for libamentes of siluer two thousand foure hundred, basens of siluer thirtie: phials of gold thirtie, also of siluer two thousand foure hundred: and other vessels a thousand.Horum autem hic numerus. 18And now be it known to our Lord the king, that Jews came up from you to us, coming into Jerusalem a rebellious, and very pessimam: wicked, worthless, not the modern mild mischievous city, do build the furnaces thereof, and set up the walls, and raise the temple.And now be it knowen to our Lord the king, that Iewes came vp from you to vs, comming into Ierusalem a rebellious, & very naughty citie, do build the fornaces thereof, and set vp the walles, and rayse the temple.Et nunc notum sit domino regi, quoniam Judæi qui ascenderunt a vobis ad nos, venientes in Jerusalem civitatem refugam et pessimam, ædificant furnos ejus, et statuunt muros, et templum suscitant.
19And if this city, and the walls shall be finished, they will not only not abide to pay tributes, but also will resist the kings.And if this citie, and the walles shal be finished, they wil not onlie not abyde to pay tributes, but also wil resist the kinges.Quod si civitas ista, et muri consummati fuerint, non tantum tributa non sustinebunt pendere, sed etiam regibus resistent.

21but to make it known to our Lord the king, that if it shall seem good, O king, it may be sought in the books of thy fathers,but to make it knowen to our Lord the king, that if it shal seme good, ô king, it may be sought in the bookes of thy fathers,sed notum facere domino regi, ut si videbitur, rex, quæratur in libris patrum tuorum,
22and thou shalt find in the records, things written of these, and thou shalt know that this city hath been rebellious, and troubling kings, and cities,and thou shalt find in the recordes, thinges writen of these, and thou shalt know that this citie hath bene rebellious, and trubling kinges, and cities,et invenies in admonitionibus scripta de his, et scies quoniam civitas ista fuit refuga, et reges, et civitates concutiens,
23and the Jews rebels, and making battles in it from time out of mind, for the which cause this city was made desolate.and the Iewes rebelles, & making battels in it from time out of mind, for the which cause this citie was made desolate.et Judæi refugæ, et prælia committentes in ea ab æterno, ob quam causam civitas ista deserta est.
24Now therefore we do thee to understand, Lord king, that if this city shall be built, and the walls thereof shall be erected, there will be no coming down for thee into Cælesyria, and Phenice.Now therfore we doe thee to vnderstand, Lord king, that if this citie shal be built, and the walles therof shalbe erected, there wil be no comming downe for thee into Cælesyria, & Phenice.Nunc ergo notum facimus, domine rex, quoniam si civitas hæc ædificata fuerit, et hujus muri erecti fuerint, descensus tibi non erit in Cœlesyriam, et Phœnicen.

29and that they proceed not further, whereof are evils, so that there may be trouble brought upon the kings.and that they proceede not farder, wherof are euils, so that there may be truble brought vpon the kinges.sed nec procedant in plurimum, ex quo sunt malitiæ, ita ut regibus molestia importetur.
30Then these things being read which were written of king Artaxerxes, Rathimus, and Sabellius the scribe, and they that were appointed with them joining together in haste came to Jerusalem with a troop of horsemen, and multitude, and company:Then these things being read which were writen of king Artaxerxes, Rathimus, and Sabellius the scribe, and they that were apointed with them ioyning together in hast came to Ierusalem with a troupe of horsemen, and multitude, & companie:Tunc recitatis his quæ a rege Artaxerxe scripta fuerant, Rathimus, et Sabellius scriba, et qui cum his constituti erant jungentes festinanter venerunt in Jerusalem cum equitatu, et turba, et agmine :
