7Whereupon also there arose strife amongst the herdsmen of Abram and of Lot. And that time the Chananite and the Pherisite dwelled in that country.Wherupon also there arose strife amongst the heardsmen of Abram and of Lot. 8Abram therefore said to Lot: Let there be no quarrel, dispute · Vulgate: jurgium I beseech thee between me and thee, and between my herdsmen, and thy herdsmen: for we be brethren.Abram therfore said to Lot: Let there be no brawle I beseech thee betwen me and thee, and betwen my heardsmen, and thy heardsmen: for we be brethren.Dixit ergo Abram ad Lot : Ne quæso sit jurgium inter me et te, et inter pastores meos et pastores tuos : fratres enim sumus.
9Behold the whole land is before thee: go apart from me, I pray thee: if thou wilt go to the left hand, I will take the right: if thou choose the right hand, I will pass to the left.Behold the whole land is before thee: goe aparte from me, I pray thee: if thou wilt goe to the left hand, I wil take the right: if thou choose the right hand, I wil passe to the left.Ecce universa terra coram te est : recede a me, obsecro : si ad sinistram ieris, ego dexteram tenebo : si tu dexteram elegeris, ego ad sinistram pergam.
10Lot therefore lifting up his eyes, saw all the country about Jordan, which was watered throughout before that our Lord overthrew, destroyed · Vulgate: subverteret Sodome and Gomorre, as the paradise of our Lord, and like as Egypt as men come unto Segor.Lot therfore lifting vp his eyes, sawe al the countrie about Iordaine, which was watered through out before that our Lord subuerted Sodome and Gomorre, as the paradise of our Lord, and like as Ægypt as men come vnto Segor.Elevatis itaque Lot oculis, vidit omnem circa regionem Jordanis, quæ universa irrigabatur antequam subverteret Dominus Sodomam et Gomorrham, sicut paradisus Domini, et sicut Ægyptus venientibus in Segor.

15All the land, which thou seest, will I give to thee, and to thy seed for ever.Al the land, which thou seest, wil I giue to thee, & to thy seed for euer.Omnem terram, quam conspicis, tibi dabo, et semini tuo usque in sempiternum.
16And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: if any man be able to number the dust of the earth, thy seed also shall he be able to number.And I wil make thy seede as the dust of the earth: if any man be able to number the dust of the earth, thy seede also shal he be able to number.Faciamque semen tuum sicut pulverem terræ : si quis potest hominum numerare pulverem terræ, semen quoque tuum numerare poterit.
